One of the most popular green teas from Zhejiang, China. Gunpowder tea can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty 618-907.
Before their inveterate obsession with black morning teas, the British had a love of green tea (especially of the gunpowder variety). The rolled leaves enabled the tea to retain and pack in its nutty and full bodied flavour whilst being transported across continents. The consequent unfurling process upon infusion was a little spectacle to behold.
A strong tea with a tangy aroma, our variety displays the marks of premium quality: formed of smaller and shimmery pearls rolled from young and tender leaves.
