Fine ceremonial matcha powder from Japanese Gyokuro leaves. A powerhouse of nutrients and anti-oxidants, which exceeds the health benefits of other green teas. 

At the beginning of April, specially selected Gyokuro leaves are left under the shade of a bamboo screen for up to three weeks. Subsequently, the leaves are processed into 'Tencha'- namely, the raw material for making matcha. The Tencha leaves are then manually ground into ultra-fine matcha powder.

Matcha is not just a beverage, it is very versatile and can be used as an ingredient in both sweet and savoury dishes, puddings, soups, ice creams milkshakes and home made pasta. In addition, you can add almond milk, honey or vanilla.

Preparation: put one level teaspoon full of matcha powder into a bowl, add freshly boiled, cooled water and froth up with a bamboo whisk.
